OVERVIEW of Position and Duties:

Charlevoix County Commission on Aging is seeking a part time Certified Nursing

Aide/Homemaker.  This position is Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:30a – 4:30p for up to 25 hours a week.  No Weekends, no evenings.  This position is responsible for assisting aging adults in their home environment with activities of daily living.  Routine duties include but are not limited to bathing, personal care, dressing, transferring, light housekeeping, laundry, light meal preparation and engaging in activities to assist with isolation and loneliness.  The right person needs to love to work with seniors, on an independent basis under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.  They should be creative, positive, outgoing, dependable, flexible.  Experience is preferred.

MANDATORY Requirements:

High School Diploma

Proof of current C.N.A (Certified Nurse Aide) registration within the State of Michigan or LPN Licensure.

Proof of CPR Certification

Be able to pass a skills competency exam administered by a Registered Nurse.

Job Type: Seasonal (Fluctuating Hours and Days)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tractor Operator to join our team in Charlevoix, MI. This is a seasonal position with fluctuating hours and days, as work depends on favorable weather conditions and when fields are ready. The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of equipment and strong attention to detail. While prior experience is preferred, we are open to providing training for the right candidate. The Tractor Operator will be responsible for operating various tractors and implements, performing tasks such as discing, cultipacking, seeding, mowing, and hauling wagons. Additionally, the role involves assisting with pre- and post-operation maintenance to ensure machinery is in optimal working condition. A valid driver’s license is required. All employees are subject to random drug and alcohol testing, as well as mandatory testing following any accidents or injuries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate tractors and various implements to perform tasks such as discing, cultipacking, seeding, mowing, and hauling wagons.
  • Assist with pre-operation maintenance, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and inspecting equipment for wear and tear.
  • Perform post-operation maintenance by cleaning machinery, refueling, and reporting any equipment issues to supervisors.
  • Ensure proper setup and calibration of machinery to maximize efficiency and performance.
  • Work in fluctuating conditions, adapting to varying hours and days based on weather and field readiness.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure tasks are completed on time and to standard.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Basic knowledge of farming equipment and machinery.
  • Previous experience operating tractors or other heavy machinery is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate.

  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions and adapt to fluctuating hours based on weather and field readiness.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor as needed.
