All individuals — regardless of ability — can participate, learn and enrich their lives in an inclusive environment.
Established in 1984 as a non-profit organization, Challenge Mountain was the first independent adaptive skiing program in northern Michigan. Today, Challenge Mountain offers adaptive recreational and social opportunities that continue to enrich lives and empower individuals living with disabilities. Each year, Challenge Mountain connects children, youth and adults living with disabilities through adaptive skiing, equine therapy, ropes challenge course, adaptive biking, sailing and SPIRIT Day Camp. Individuals of all ages and abilities can take part in Challenge Mountain’s programs at no cost, including those living with physical, cognitive and developmental disabilities

The C-48 Breezeway is a well known scenic route connecting Atwood, Ellsworth, East Jordan and Boyne Falls. Not only is it the fastest route from point A (Atwood) to point B (Boyne Falls) but this 25 mile scenic rural ride is sure to please everyone. This scenic route offers everything from spectacular views, award winning cuisine, nature preserves, orchards, attractions, artisans, and much more.
