Music in the Park Concert Series – Bernadette Kathryn and the Lonely Days Band

Get ready to kick off the East Jordan Music in the Park Summer Concert venue this Friday, June 2nd, 7:00 PM at the Memorial Park Bandshell with Detroit’s Country Rebel Bernadette Kathryn and the Lonely Days Band.
Since Bernadette Kathryn performed on the Grand Ole Opry Stage in October of 2017, “her name is on everyone’s lips in the country music community.” The Lonely Days Band embodies that Nashville sound combined with Motor City Rock and with Bernadette’s intense vocals gives them mass crowd appeal for all ages.
The East Jordan Music In The Park Summer Concert Series runs through Friday, July 18 with the exception of Friday, June 23 which is the East Jordan Freedom Festival Block Party.

GLCO presents: From Bohemia’s Woods & Groves

The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra presents “From Bohemia’s Woods & Groves” on Saturday, June 10th at 7 pm at the John M. Hall Auditorium in Bay View, Petoskey.

The concert features works by Czech composers: Antonín Dvořák’s 8th Symphony and Bedřich Smetana’s Moldau, and welcomes back award-winning violin virtuoso Dylana Jenson (the first American woman to win the Tchaikovsky International competition) performing Samuel Barber’s Violin Concerto.

Tickets from $35 – $65 are available at www.glcorchestra.org.  The concert is free for veterans, active service members and students 18 and under by calling 231-487-0010.

Tickets include an optional pre-concert talk at 6 pm by Libor Ondras, music director and conductor, as well as a post-concert reception

GLCO presents The Hummel Trio

Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra presents The Hummel Trio with Maestro Libor Ondras, as part of the season’s Sunday Recital Series. The program will include works by César Franck, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Johann Hummel.  The trio includes Dr. Libor Ondras, violin, viola; Emily Grabinski Conklin, piano; and Andrew Laven, cello.

CANVAS PAINT & SIP

Join 1918 Cellars and Cottage Pottery for Paint & Sip!

Follow along with a guide and paint a unique work of art on canvas while enjoying 1918 Cellars wine at Castle Farms. Tickets are $45 and include your canvas, art supplies and one glass of 1918 Cellars wine. Additional beverages are available for purchase.

PRINCE & PRINCESS STORY TIME

Attend our annual Prince and Princess Story Time at Castle Farms on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 10 am – 12 pm! Stories will be read at 10:15 am by your very own Charlevoix Venetian Queen followed by a fun craft and activity. Enjoy a snack and refreshing beverage surrounded by billowing Summer gardens too! Come dressed up as a prince or princess and pose for pictures with Norm the dragon, St. George the Knight, and with the Charlevoix Venetian Queen and her Court.

Around 11 am, you are welcome to participate in a scavenger hunt throughout the grounds or explore the Castle’s buildings and gardens on your own. You can even climb to the top of a tower to see the Castle from up high and explore our model train garden too!

The stories and activities are chosen to appeal to youngsters ages 3 through 12.

TICKETS FOR STORY TIMES MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE ONLINE by Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

$10 PER PERSON AGES 3 AND UP (Ticket price applies to accompanying adults as well). Everyone will have access to all of the castle to explore and play after the event!

FREE ANTIQUE DRESS & QUILT DISPLAY

Visit our FREE display of antique dresses and quilts July 7-23.  It has been 5 long years since the display has open and we cannot wait to “dust off” those boxes and show off our owner’s prized collection.  The display will be available at no cost.  While on site we encourage you to take a self-guided or guided tour (admission required for all areas of the Castle aside from the Dress & Quilt display).
