East Jordan Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner/Meeting/Awards/Auction

The East Jordan Area Chamber of Commerce will host the Annual Dinner/Meeting/Awards/Auction at The Boathouse in East Jordan. Everyone is invited, but reservations are required. (seating is limited) Don’t miss out on being part of this community celebration.

GLCO presents Reperio trio in free Sunday Series recital

Welcome the New Year with the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra (GLCO), presenting Reperio on Sunday, January 14 at 4 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Boyne City. The free public recital is part of GLCO’s Sunday Series, which features small orchestra ensembles performing in Northern Michigan neighborhood venues.

The trio includes Nancy Stagnitta, principal flutist with the GLCO and the Traverse Symphony; Ya-Ju Chuang, multiple award-winning piano soloist and collaborative artist; and Dane Philipsen, principal oboist of the Traverse Symphony Orchestra with guest affiliations with the Chicago and Detroit Symphony Orchestras. The trio will be performing music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Clara Schumann, William Grant Still, Sigfrid Karg-Elert, and Madeline Dring.

Jubilee of Trees for 501C3’s

Everyone is welcome to celebrate the holidays at the Jubilee of Trees for 501C3’s. The Boathouse will be bright with decorated Christmas Trees that have been decorated and donated by local groups, clubs, churches, individuals and businesses. The trees will be bid on via Silent Auction with the winning bidder choosing which Chamber Members 501C3 will receive their donation. This event will also be combined with the Holiday Business After Hours sponsored by EJ. Hors d’oeuvers, networking and fun for all.

Jubilee of Trees for 501 C3’s & Holiday Business After Hours

Join us at The Boathouse on Lake Charlevoix (204 Water Street, East Jordan)  for the 2023 Jubilee of Trees for 501 C3’s and the Holiday Business After Hours event proudly sponsored by EJ. 25 beautifully decorated Christmas Trees and 5 Baskets will be on display and part of a silent auction. As a winning bidder, you will be allowed to choose the Chamber Member 501 C3 that you would like your donation to go to. The Holiday Business After Hours is open to everyone and it’s a great time to meet, network and learn about our local businesses, their owners/managers and kick-off the holiday season. Entry to the event will be by cash donations that will be divided between our local food pantries. Care and Share of East Jordan and The Good Samarian of Ellsworth.

GLCO presents Echoes from the Musikverein concert

Join the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra for “Echoes from the Musikverein: Music from Vienna’s Golden Concert Hall” on Saturday, November 4th at 7 PM at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts in Bay Harbor, Petoskey.  The GLCO, conducted by Maestro Libor Ondras, brings to life masterpieces by Mozart, Schubert, and Haydn in this celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Vienna. The concert features guest piano soloist Michael Barrett in Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 19. In addition, 14-year-old violinist Eeva Rintala of Boyne City and winner of GLCO’s 2023 Charles F. Davis Young Artist Competition, will be performing Beethoven’s Romance No. 2 with the orchestra.  Tickets are available at www.glcorchestra.org/concerts. Ellsworth Neighborhood Trunk-or-Treat

The Village of Ellsworth Downtown Development Authority is hosting its second annual Neighborhood Trunk or Treat on Halloween, October 31st, 2023, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Ellsworth Community Park.
The Ellsworth Farmer’s Exchange will be providing a hay-ride to the Fire Hall where a haunted house awaits for all brave enough to enter. The Banks Township Fire Department will be passing out fire protection items to parents and candy to the kiddos.
Local churches, organizations, and businesses will be providing activities and displays under the heated pavilion. And everyone has treats to pass out. As well as buckets of treats there will be pumpkin painting, a photo booth, music, games and so much more!
Anyone who wants to join in the fun, by decorating your vehicle, getting into your favorite costume, and maybe setting up a little game in your trunk, there can be a space waiting for you. Facebook message the Atwood/Ellsworth Community page.
