Come by boat or by car to Memorial Park in East Jordan to enjoy some great free music. Live entertainment on the Memorial Park Bandshell. Northern Michigan Chorale presents “Musical Mosaic”

The Northern Michigan Chorale (NMC) presents “Musical Mosaic” on Saturday, May 3rd at 7 PM and Sunday, May 4th at 3 PM at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts in Bay Harbor. This spring concert features a unique collection of popular songs that may not traditionally go together but perfectly align through their theme, sound, and production. The performance is led by director Hannah Hoffman and accompanied by Cynda Coleman.

Tickets are $15 for the general public, $12 for students and seniors, and free for children 10 and under. Tickets can be purchased from chorale members, at the NMC welcome table in the lobby before the show, or online at www.greatlakescfa.org.

GLCO presents Lux Aeterna and Mozart

Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra presents Lux Aeterna and Mozart

In the wake of the devastating ice storm, the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra (GLCO) is offering its April 25 concert – Lux Aeterna / Eternal Light – FREE to the public, as a gift of comfort, healing, and light for the community.

Featuring music that embraces light as a symbol of peace and hope, the evening will include Morten Lauridsen’s beloved choral work Lux Aeterna – Latin for “eternal light” – and Mozart’s Symphony No. 25.  The orchestra, conducted by Libor Ondras, will be joined by the GLCO chorus led by Andre Strydom.

Presented in the breathtaking acoustics of St. Francis Xavier Church in Petoskey, this program promises a deeply moving experience that honor both resilience and renewal.

No tickets are necessary for the 7 PM concert at 513 Howard St.

GLCO presents Noteable Chamber Choir in free Sunday Series recital

Noteable Chamber Choir is a dynamic new vocal ensemble based in Northern Michigan. Consisting of 16 skilled and versatile singers, the group showcases a diverse repertoire ranging from sacred and classical pieces to contemporary works.  This program’s theme is Songs of Home – A musical journey that keeps us longing for home.

The recital, part of the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra (GLCO)’s Sunday Series, will take place at 4 PM on Sunday March 9th at the First Congregational Church, 101 State St. in Charlevoix.

The free of charge Sunday Series recitals are made possible through the generous support of Carolyn Klender.
The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra is a nonprofit professional orchestra headquartered at 219 E. Lake St. in Petoskey.
