East Jordan Lion’s Club Easter Fun & Games

At the East Jordan Elementary School Gym. Fun for kids of all ages. Special drawings for school age children ages 5 – 12 (for drawings) all ages can play the games. The Easter Bunny will be here.

Jordan Valley Community Band Spring Concert

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy some great music from the Jordan Valley Community Band at the Community Auditorium located in the East Jordan Middle/High School

Admission is free, donations much appreciated.

We are so excited about the upcoming Charlevoix and East Jordan Chamber of Commerce Business Expo and Best in Taste event scheduled for March 18th, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Castle Farms. this is the first ever Business Expo for the East Jordan Area Chamber of Commerce and we are delighted to partner with the Charlevoix Chamber to showcase our businesses, organizations, events and restaurants. We are anticipating attendance of 1000 people with the added list of vendors and communities involved. there will be a “Vendor to Vendor” hour from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM for exhibitors to meet and network prior to the expo opening to the general public at 4:00 PM. The “Best In Taste” will certainly offer some delicious samples from our restaurants, caterers and agricultural members.

Voices of the Land: A Sand County Almanac Community Reading

Join us Saturday March 7th, 1-4pm for a community reading of Aldo Leopold’s iconic A Sand County Almanac. Join the Charlevoix Conservation District board and staff, along with conservation and community leaders from throughout the Tip of the Mitt region including local garden clubs, district libraries, chambers, Friends of the Boyne River, Master Gardeners, Environmental Educators, NCMC Environmental Studies Instructors, Little Traverse Conservancy, Walloon Conservancy and more, as they share passages from the book and let Leopold’s timeless words awaken a deeper ethic of care for our land. You don’t need to be familiar with Aldo Leopold or his writings to enjoy this unique community event. Enjoy a free copy of A Sand County Almanac and refreshments upon participation.

GLCO presents Cummings Quartet in free recital

Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra’s Sunday Series presents The Cummings Quartet

The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra (GLCO) will present The Cummings Quartet on Sunday February 15 at 4 PM at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 1020 E. Mitchell St. in Petoskey. The public recital is part of GLCO’s Sunday Series, which features small orchestra ensembles performing free of charge in venues around northern Michigan.

The Cummings Quartet is a northern Michigan-based ensemble of professionals who perform with the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra and the Traverse City Philharmonic and is named after the benefactors of the Dorothy Gerber Strings Program (DGSP) for area youth.  The quartet serves as teachers and artistic representatives of the program, and includes DGSP Director Dr. David Reimer, violin; Rodrigo Quintana, violin; Dr. Ryellen Joaquim, viola; and Elizabeth Bert, cello.

No tickets or registration are needed. The free of charge Sunday Series recitals are made possible through the generous support of Carolyn Klender.
