January 13, 2021 – Information from the Northwest Michigan Health Department
I’m over 65 and heard that I can get a vaccine starting today. How do I sign up?
In the announcement last week, individuals in Phase 1B and those 65 and older are eligible to receive the vaccine starting today, as supplies are available.
-As of today, we are not ready to vaccinate Phase 1B and people 65 and older, however, these groups can complete our COVID-19 vaccination form to notify the health department they are interested in receiving the vaccine.
I filled out the form but haven’t heard back yet. Who can I call?
We ask that you do not call the health department to request an appointment. Based on the information you submit in the COVID-19 vaccination form, a health department employee will call you to schedule an appointment as soon as vaccine supplies and appointments are available.
Those 65 and older, and individuals without access to transportation to a vaccination site within 30 miles of their home can call the Area Agency on Aging and United Way senior hotline at 231-715-5557 for assistance.
