Fall Fast Approaching on The Breezeway

Driving across the 26 scenic miles of C-48 The Breezeway this past week for events, there are hints of “fall colors” starting to happen on trees. At our Chamber Office, we are already planning for the 13th Annual Breezeway Fall Color Cruises (scheduled for three consecutive Saturday’s – Sept. 24, Oct. 1 and Oct. 8). From 10:00 AM – Noon at Royal Farms in Atwood pick up your goodie bags filled with coupons, business swag, “Trip Tips” sheet of attractions, events, etc. and then “tour” 26 miles of the Breezeway at your own pace. Explore and discover businesses, events and places of interest on your schedule and choice! Plenty of places to dine at, shop and experience fall!

On September 23 & 24, the annual East Jordan Fall Fest will be held at the East Jordan Tourist Park located on the beautiful South Arm of Lake Charlevoix. The event, sponsored by the City of East Jordan Parks and Rec., Department features music, a co-ed softball tournament, food, beer tent, corn hole tournament, hayrides, children’s games, face painting, art and craft show, campsite decorating contest for campers at the park, early Trick or Treating at the campsites, plus more. Fun for all ages!

Friday night will feature the very popular Jelly Roll Blues Band from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Saturday’s line-up includes 10:00 AM – Lou Thumser, 12:00 Noon – Nelson Olstrom, 2:00 PM – Charlie’s Root Fusion, 4:00 PM – Two Track Mind and local rock band Derailed from 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM.

If you are simply interested in taking a fall drive throughout the Breezeway and Jordan Valley during the week, the Chamber has suggested color tour routes and maps available. There are also several nature preserves throughout the area for great hiking. Fall is also an excellent time to canoe or kayak the wild and scenic Jordan River or the Chain of Lakes Water Trail. The Annual Paddle Antrim Festival takes place on September 15 – 17, 2022 on the Chain of Lakes. For more information on the Paddle Antrim event visit www.paddleantrim.com.

For more information on any of these events or fall color tour routes, contact the East Jordan Area Chamber of Commerce at 231-536-7351 or email – info@ejchamber.org or website www.ejchamber.org
