East Jordan Readies for Winter Events
As I am writing this article it is in the high 80’s, humid and we are close to drought conditions. Yet, winter festivals and snowmobile trails are on the minds of many in our area. We all know how time flies and before too long, winter will be upon us. The Sno-Blast Winter Festival committee has announced February 23-24 as the dates for the 38th Annual festival in East Jordan. The East Jordan Sno-Mobilers Clubhouse and Grounds will be the location for many of the festival’s events. The committee members are looking to add some new events to the schedule along with bringing back many festival favorite events. If you are interested in helping with the festival, please contact the East Jordan Area Chamber of Commerce for meeting times and location. One new event for 2019 will be the “TNT’s Ride Like a Girl To Save the Girls Bikini Radar Run”. The radar run will be held on Saturday, February 23, on the EJ Sno-Mobiler’s Club Grounds. All money raised will be given to the East Jordan Lioness Club who distributes gas cards to local women and men going through breast cancer treatments. Members of the East Jordan community are working on improving the snowmobile trails and signage into East Jordan from the Sno-Mobilers Clubhouse. A new non-profit club, South Arm ORV Club has been formed to educate and promote a safe, family fun environment for the sport of ORV’s through club activities and public education of the ORV laws of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The area offers the finest fall color scenic routes and overlook sites. Fall festivals include, East Jordan Fall Fest- September 29, Pumpkin Festival-October 17, Breezeway Fall Color Cruises-September 29, October 6 & October 13.
