Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra’s Sunday Series presents The Cummings Quartet
The Cummings Quartet, presented by the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra (GLCO), will perform a free concert on Sunday, March 19 at 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Charlevoix as part of GLCO’s Sunday Series, bringing small orchestra ensembles to neighborhood venues across Charlevoix and Emmet counties.
The Cumming Quartet is a northern Michigan-based ensemble of professionals who perform with the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra and the Traverse Symphony Orchestra. Named after the benefactors of the Dorothy Gerber Strings Program, the quartet serves as teachers and artistic representatives of the Gerber youth music education program throughout the region. Musicians David Reimer (violin), Elise Greidanus (violin), Benjamin Wu (viola) and Greg Binger (cello) will be performing works by Felix Mendelssohn, William Grant Still, and Joaquin Turina.
