We always need help clearing the nursery of encroaching pioneer plants and weeds\, but you’ll also learning about the importance of beach grass in a sandy environments\, and the positive impact it has on stilling erosion and improving wildlife habitat. To sign up and for directions\, please contact district manager\, Alison Adams at 231-582-6193. Lunch will be provided. \nDistrict Office Open House: The District is always open to the public\, but on July 17th\, 4pm-6pm join us to “Eat\, Meet and Learn” with conservation district staff\, board of directors and partner conservation groups. This is a great opportunity to get to know your local conservation district staff\, board\, and our mission and purpose. DESCRIPTION:The 25th Anniversary Season for the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra (GLCO) opens at 7 PM on Saturday\, September 6th in John M. Hall Auditorium\, in Bay View\, Petoskey. The performance\, under the baton of Maestro Libor Ondras\, will feature Beethoven’s Eroica and Mozart’s Concerto for Two Pianos.  \nEroica\, Beethoven’s favorite symphony\, is widely considered a landmark in the transition between the Classical and Romantic era. \nMozart’s (only) Concerto for Two Pianos features guest piano soloists Tony Patterson and Casey Robards. \nAlso performed will be Match by Tony Patterson\, and First Movement of Symphony in E-flat Major by Anton Eberl. \nTickets (Assigned seating at $35\, $45\, $65) are available at glcorchestra.org/concerts/ or at 231-487-0010. This performance\, free of charge\, is part of the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra’s Sunday Series of small orchestra ensembles in neighborhood venues across Charlevoix and Emmet counties. The 4 PM concert will be held at Crooked Tree Arts Center\, 461 E. Mitchell St.\, Petoskey on Sunday September 21\, 2025. \n  \nNancy\, principal flutist for the GLCO and Traverse City Philharmonic (TC Phil)\, is on the faculty of Interlochen and is a leading global crossover artist in jazz and classical music. She has just completed touring with Paul Simon and his all-star band for the “A Quiet Celebration” tour through the US and Canada. Filling out her acclaimed trio are bassist Jack Dryden and jazz pianist Bryn Roberts. \n  \n  \n
