DESCRIPTION:Rockin’ with the GLCO Pops at 7 pm Tuesday\, July 19th at Great Lakes Center for the Arts features internationally popular vocal group Rockapella with their full-band contemporary a cappella sound. The group will also collaborate with the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra for favorites from Elton John\, Three Dog Night\, George Harrison and more.\nThe concert includes two other exciting orchestral works based on dance music of Mexico.\nHuapango by José Pablo Moncayo is an enduring classic with exciting\, rhythmic percussion and brass.\nDanzon 2 by Arturo Marquez is one of the most popular and frequently performed Mexican contemporary classical pieces\, with a dance form that originated in Cuba and became part of the folklore of Veracruz. \nTickets from $45 – $75 are available at www.glcorchestra.org.  Free for veterans\, Active Service Members and Students 18 and under by calling 231-487-0010. \n\n\n\n\n
